💡 Double Cleansing Guide
Double cleansing is non-negotiable if you wear SPF. Oil/balm first (dissolves sunscreen and sebum), then foam/gel second (removes residue). Water-based cleansers alone cannot fully remove SPF.
Low pH matters. Your skin's pH is ~5.5. High-pH cleansers (most drugstore foams) strip your acid mantle, leading to dehydration and breakouts. COSRX Good Morning (pH 5.5) and Vanicream are safe bets.
Don't over-cleanse. 60 seconds is enough. Massaging longer doesn't clean better — it irritates more. Gentle pressure, short contact time.
Your skin should NOT feel tight after cleansing. "Squeaky clean" = stripped barrier. If it feels tight, your cleanser is too harsh or you're washing too long.
